Botox

Botox can temporarely help relax certain muscles in the face that cause wrinkles.

Injections can be used on frowns, crows feet and forehead lines. They can also strategically relax certain muscles to create an eyebrow lift, reduce a gummy smile, slim the jawline and to stop the downward pull of muscles on the mouth and neck. Botox injections can help to prevent the permanent etching of lines into the face by constant muscle contraction. They work after 7-14 days and last for 3-4 months reversible. Botox can be used to reduce teeth grinding and reduce the size of the masseter (chewing) muscle, as well as help to reduce sweating when injected into the underarms or palms.

Botox can be used in conjunction with dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restilane, Artecoll and Teosyl to help treat both static and dynamic wrinkles. Laser resurfacing for smile lines and frown lines will greatly enhance the end result of laser resurfacing for exaggerated wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. The droopy tired look of the eyes and increases the bagginess of the upper eyelids. A Botox lateral brow lift is an excellent option to enhance the effect of the laser eyelid lifts.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments which we use to reverse sun damage. This is a unique approach combining two non-ablative treatments and there is no downtime for the patient. Before, During & After Treatment

Before: Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen-like medications for one week prior to treatment.

During: Botox injection causes an initial minor sting for a few seconds. Once the injection is complete, there is typically no discomfort.

After: Generally speaking, patients are free to continue their routine daily activities immediately treatment, with the following exceptions; do not exercise for 24 hours and avoid lying down or massaging the treated area for 4 hours after treatment.

If you get a headache (as some people do for few hours after treatment), take Tylenol unless otherwise advised by your physician. Each facial area has an optimum amount of botox cosmetic required to create the great results patients are looking for. For the average age woman 40 years old, in the frown zone, 20 to 30 units units of botox cosmetic gives a great result.

Jawline contouring has become a popular cosmetic procedure. It is also performed for Temporal Mandibular Joint Disease.

It has the ability to achieve a less prominent jawline, create a harmonious balance with other facial features and soften the appearance. Physicians can sculpt the jawline by performing multiple cosmetic treatments called the non-surgical alternative. Imagine being able to improve your facial contour in a lunch hour, then driving yourself back to the office or home to resume normal activities without complication! Yes, it's just that easy. Your jawline can be transformed into something that compliments the rest of your face. In order to determine whether this solution is suitable for you, a consultation will be arranged with a patient consultant to discuss your goals and assess your facial shape. Your anatomic facial structure will also be examined. If the masseter is not pinpointed as the reason for your square jaw, jawline sculpting may not be deemed suitable and an alternative may be suggested. In the event non-surgical methods are unsuitable or cannot achieve desirable results, surgical jawline sculpting may be the best solution.

The masseter is a muscle located in the jaw. Responsible for moving the jaw, it allows the teeth to clench or chew. People who have a large masseter (hypertrophy) often have a square jawline. Non-surgical jawline contouring with different techniques works on the masseter muscle. Improvement in the jawline becomes apparent up to 6 weeks after a session and results may last from 4-6 months, although in some instances it can even last up to a full year - depending on the individual.
